Once working the industry for the first time during an ultra busy summer, "Big John" Rowe realized that his sous, Blaine, was speaking the truth about us needing some "different" kind of help in the industry. A year passed and they reconvened, bringing on Rowan, who has experience in psychology and the restaurants. Together, they are able to cook it up! Let's do this!
Blaine was sous chef at Carver Brewing Company for over 3 years. Working with Wisconsin farmers for a summer, Blaine experienced the reality of issues with mental health in the industry and decided to act on it. Blaine is currently working as the Sous Chef at El Moro Spirits & Tavern.
JOHN G. ROWE MSW, LSW
John is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with nearly a decade of sending, shredding, and paddling his way through the Four Corners area. John received his BA in psychology from Fort Lewis College where he thrived as a whitewater and wilderness guide. John attended the Four Corners MSW program through the University of Denver focusing on advanced clinical practice. He has experience providing care in the forensic, integrated care, community outpatient, short-term crisis, wilderness, and long term residential settings while focusing in areas such as trauma informed care, family systems, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, and program development. While working under Blaine one summer, John developed an interest in bringing his skill sets back to the line.
Rowan is a licensed clinical social worker, ex chef, and co-owner of Durango Psychotherapy. He knows what it's like to be in the weeds on a Saturday night. (for him it looked like panic attacks, bong hits in the walk-in, hyperventilating, and cocktails in a coffee cup...not necessarily in that order). Rowan has a podcast called Therapy for Humans, it's a potty-mouthed podcast for troubling times. When shit gets weird, he's got your back.
